Hot Tub Hire Info
Questions and answers for your hot tub hire once you have made a booking
Please make sure you know where it's going before arrival and if the ground isn't flat, the water will all be on one side so make side you have chosen a site close to an electric socket within 10 meters inside or out for the socket, we cannot move it once it placed down.
do you bring a hose pipe? Not unless you per order one 24 hours before delivery, or use yours or neighbours etc.
water levels gone down- too it up daily right up to 2 inches from the very top and keep it there as the do lose water from evaporation and people getting in and out , also the odd drip from rolling them around.
do I leave it plugged in when on hire? Yes absolutely or it will go cold.
doesn't need to be in grass! Can be any surface but must be flat level, although inflatable tubs can't be on stones obviously.
do I have to use dip test strips or ph as well as chlorine? No as we use 4 in 1 quality tablets in the float, we give extra also, plus we use granules to get the level up quick to use, the 4 in 1 is chlorine, ph stabilised, clarifier, and algicide to stop it going green. All are stabilised so you don't need to test dip strip the water.you mustn't let the tablets dissolve completely as there will be no barrier.
plug has meted, this happens when your socket is faulty and creates heat, it'll be a lose wire in the socket at your home, simply get someone competent to change the plug and not use that socket again, get it checked out in your own time. Using extension leads increase the chance of a plug damaged, however a tough plug is £1.59 in screwfix .
if you have hired an inflatable we can hire you a tap connector for £5 , reason is they take 40 hours to heat versus the 12-20 with a solid spa,
We used to hire or lend them, but too many kept them so that's now stopped.
£5, keep it and warm fill, some taps are unsuitable so send a pic of your tap if you'd like this option, but don't moan about heat times if your cold filling
Or but one from Wilkinson's etc..
please don't leave gazebo sides on of wind is forecast over 15 mph
They come off in seconds
You are responsible for the equipment so just google your postcode and then bbc weather to keep and eye on wind.
Decking is fine if strong for your spa
please do not wear jewellery or anything sharp, more and more every week are getting punctured.
Damages will be paid for
What time do we usually collect the spas?
Times vary and it's worked out as an am or pm slot the day before, same as delivery, between 8am and 8pm is the times we will usually collect and deliver.and even later sometimes.
jets have gone off on some jets in my round solid spa, twist them gently anti clockwise, some don't twist so be careful
And Rio spas don't adjust at all , inflatable tubs don't have jets.
eyes are stinging, take the float out the water for 24 hours or until it doesn't sting.
how much do they cost to run? To heat from cold is about £10-£20 then £2 a day on average, obviously of your in 8 hours then it will be significantly more, it's s hot tub so they won't be eco friendly, however it's £5 a pint in most bars in the city so put it in perspective
if I hot fill it how long will it take to heat?
We get asked this a lot, it's no time if you fill hot, checking it as it fill and adjust temp so it's bang on 40 or 39 degrees.
the water has gone dirty, can I empty it or move the hot tub ? Please never empty or move it, you can burn the pump out, and damage the hot tub and that would be a high cost to fix for the hirer, pump alone is £400 fitted.
it's gone cold and we've left the lid off is this right? Yes it will do, lid on when not in use will keep temperatures better
And remember if it's on speed 2 solid spa or bubbles on inflatable it cools it faster than it heats.
do I have to have a cable through an open window if I don't have an outside socket? Yes and you can't shut it as it will snip the cable . Some window shut on the latch.you will not be able to run the cable through a door and close it, or a window and close it fully.
We use our own extensions leads for safety and our insurance won't cover your lead so no need to dig out your extensions.
Do you wait while the spa fills? No we don't. We set it away filling using your hose and all you do is turn the hose off when full and power on.
can I contact you? Please only message if it's something that's not in the info we have texted or something is broken, not heat times etc as we don't control that, just actual broken hot tub messages please, thank you,Just enjoy yourself instead.
How full do I fill it with water? Inflatable spa fill to an inch below the minimum line as it rises when you get in, too much water and it won't heat correctly (much slower) all solid spas fill to 4 inches from the top of the spa very top edge
Not too high where the lid sits in water.
the hot tubs been on 10 hours (for example) and it's showing 20 degrees but feels cold Ben, is that right? Yes it will feel cold until it gets to 30 as your blood is 37, so anything below that will feel cold, a swimming pool at 28 degrees for example doesn't feel warm.
Simply wait or add hot water and lots of it until it reaches the desired temp.
if you hot fill it, please do not add water over 40 degrees Celsius, use common sense, baby bath water hot only please, 37 degrees, if it feels hot, add cold, feels cold? Add hot.
If the inflatable has been hot filled and it's just beeping, it is too hot
Add cold until it's below 40 degrees.
What do I do if the gazebo is up and it's windy? Absolutely take it down, get the sides off if we hired those, press the button at the top of the leg on each leg and half way down keep pressing that until it all gently lowers or fold it down completely please. You are responsible for the gazebo and any damage is not our responsibility, this includes the hot tub lid, step and anything else we hire.
plug is hot , yes they do run warm when heating constantly, check your socket as a lose wire inside your socket will make it run very hot and could melt. Try another socket and don't plug anything next or on same one.
if the area isn't suitable for a gazebo we may not hire it on arrival,so please measure the area, 300cm by 300cm plus room around it.
Do you leave it plugged in the whole hire and powered on? Yes or it will go cold.
Please don't unplug if you want to use again as not only will it go cold, it doesn't do the heater any good with huge sessions of heating from cold again daily.
my inflatable is losing air what shall I do? Inflate using the hose we left between the spa and control panel or foot pump if we left that instead, yes they lose air.
we do not refund or drive out with another if they lose air, simply add more air with the equipment left please
Thin sided inflatable spas just use the hand pump we left, thicker sides ones follow this instruction
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxluLIeoNAU&t=104s
We do not refund at all for lost air or heating times or anything else
We just add hot water .
If it says error 08, you've filled it too hot
Add cold and unplug ASAP
It should be warm not hot.
My inflatable says e90 or error 02
These are dirty filters, unplug for ten mins, clean the filters twice a day, full bore cold tap or hose or jet wash lightly, do not use soap or put in washing machine.
Please don't contact us about those codes, it's dirty filter and sometimes the bit the filter screws on has bits of fluff/lint/muck in that.
If it's brown it's dirty.clean to white again.
Lay z spas have a thermal reset
Follow this
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isgLwdtbU-E&feature=youtu.be
And list of error codes here
https://support.bestwayaftersales.co.uk/faq/get-help-with-your-lay-z-spa-pump/
No need to ring about codes
All you need to know is above on Those links above for the lazy spa inflatable only
the inflatable lid has lost air, ok they do as they get punctured faster than we can fix and replace them, it doesn't effect the hot tub use, lots of hirers chuck the inflatable lid and use the outer cover instead.just blow it up as you would a lilo or use the pipe we left. Don't worry, some don't hold air for long.
what's the plastic thing on the side of the round spas? On the 7-8 seat ones that diverts water from the side jets to the back jets in the captains
In the middle is both back and sides
do I leave the top off the hot tub when heating or not in use? Absolutely not, it'll use a lot of electric and wear the spa out.
the filter housing plastic thing is bobbing up and down in the water, yes that normal on the round solid spas, they aren't threaded so down stay down in water, it's normal don't worry. It's a skimmer, Making sure the skimmer floats to above the water line means it can properly filtrate as it should.
the light has broken what shall I do? Please inform us, but we can't refund or part refund or call back out for a light, things can and will go wrong, a light can be bought from amazon that goes in water £8.
don't plug anything in the same socket or even near the socket used for the spa or it will melt the socket to the wall from the heat Created from too much power used. We will not be held responsible and you will be charged for damage
Same applies to using a long cable, it will melt.
If we have gone through the house with an inflatable spa we will need someone to meet us there on collection day during day time hours well before 2pm as it will be back out again so bear this in mind.
The balance payment is cash on delivery please.
we are very busy and have over 30 hot tubs so please bear this in mind regarding what time are you delivering or collecting as we work it out a day before down to an am or pm
We then text on the way
Hot tubs need a flat level clean ,not soil or mud ground, flat level grass is fine or patio or decking if strong.
Heating info
Yes they fluctuate in temp, this is normal, if you cannot wait the one degree an hour increase, add hot water via hose to hot tap as that's a very fast way, the solid tubs keep temps much better than inflatable spas.
solid spas do not heat on speed two and the temperature will drop on speed two so keep putting it on speed 1 or add hot water until the desired temperature is reached again.
please no "should it be hot by now texts "
If you want to use it quicker than 24 hours after delivery we suggest you buy the right tap connector for your tap before the the day of delivery, take a pic of tap to b&q etc and they will supply one around £5 and it's handy for the future for you also, and attach it to the hose if you have a combi boiler, if you don't have one you cannot get 1000 litres of warm water from your hot, and you'll have to wait until it's warmed by the integral heater in the spa.
It's totally normal to cold fill if you don't want to get a tap connector.
1-2 degrees an hour increase from stone cold.please don't contact us about heat times, they are slow and we can't speed it up, want to speed it up? Add hot water
If the flame isn't lit on the inflatables the. It will never heat, ever. Switch it on, and flame and filter light next to it lit, this is not solid tubs .
Won't heat that last bit past 30 degrees?
The inflatable spas rarely but does happen to stick on a temp , to speed this up Add hot water from the hose attached to your hot tap or lots and lots of hot from buckets or just wait 1 hour per degree increase with lid on.
we strongly suggest you bucket or hose hot water in the spa, even if you don't have a combi boiler, it won't suddenly spring into life if it's at say 31 degrees, simply bucket hot as you ca. In the middle of the spa, lots of it until the desired temp is reached.
ALSO unplug for ten mins and clean filter if your inflatable won't heat past 30
It's usually dirty filters, clean it and restart after ten mins . Or cold temps effect hearing times hugely .
with the lazy spa tubs if it's stuck on a temp for hours it needs a thermal reset.
No need to contact us, dead easy fix.
- Turn the pump unit on at the mains.
- Press the test button once and leave it bleeping (leave for 10 seconds).
- Turn the pump unit off and unplug from the socket (leave for 10 seconds).
- Plug the pump unit back in and turn it back on.
- Press the thermal reset button using a pencil or screwdriver , it's a tiny rubber button on the control panel down the side of it, feel around,
- Once done, press the heater button. Your pump should now be working.
- Keep your eye on the temp while on hire with inflatable spas as they can stick and we cannot make them hotter quicker
err05 If you get error 5 on the round solid spa
It's got too hot and needs the error resetting
press arrow up arrow down and pump button down all at the same time pressing all 3 together again and again until it comes back on, may be once or maybe 10 times or so you have to press all 3 together like a cpr motion
Pump button is the one next to air
Then the error will go off the screen and press pump alone to get back on only when the water has cooled down
Unplug it for an hour
Top up with hose in the spa directly to increase temp or buckets (lots of them)
This method is used to increase spas from when they stick at a temp like 26,33 or 35 and won't go more, just add hot until the desired temp is reached.
please keep adding chlorine even if your finished with the spa as it will harbour bacteria if you leave it and will be harder to clean.
on collection we have a submersible pump and 8 meter hose to
Empty the spa, if we cannot reach a drain we will get the water where ever it can reach, down street, over fence etc. If you have a manhole within 8 meters please left it for us to empty where you want it to go. We cannot go around a house with an 8 meter hose. It's usually down the drain but some houses have paved over, so please bear this in mind. The water will not damage grass or plants.
please have cars or motorcycles and caravans off the access, we are not responsible for any damage caused by getting hot tubs in or out inc gazebos. If you don't move them for delivery and collection you may get charged if we can't get the spa in or out at collection.
will it mark my grass? Yes but it'll repair itself in a couple of weeks.
please don't panic if we are running late, we gets lots of set backs and will text you on the way
my inflatable has lost air what do I do?
We left an inflation hose between the spa and control panel
Connect one side to the spa and other to the control and press bubbles once you've taken the caps off
Now we hire lots of models so your better off watching a YouTube video or google instructions
If it's blue it's the Monaco, brown is the intex bubble spa and rattan brown is the st morirz
So each is different to inflate.
if you have an inflatable spa
Don't over inflate it please
I the hirer agree to pay for any damage caused to the hot tub, gazebo and any accessories hired to party time hot tub and spa hire .
We the hire company are not responsible for any damages that may arise from the equipment we hired.
We advise you to add the hot tub and gazebo or anything else you've hired from us to your home insurance as we are not liable for damages.
Thanks for hiring And here is some more checkpoints for your hire.
Checklist
You don't have to read all the texts
Only if your stuck on something. It's a cover all bases set of information.
If it's broken or your stuck on something by all means contact us straight away, anything to do with heat times please don't contact us,as we can't control or speed that up unless it's been more than 24 hours and you have a solid spa as they are faster,Inflatable yes up to 40 hours from cold so just add hot water.
inflatables lost air - pump it up, they do lose air being inflatable.
inflatable doesn't allow bubbles on, make sure padlock isn't on the screen , press and hold padlock to allow button use on lay z spas
why is the plastic thing bobbing in the solid tubs? They do it's normal.
water levels dropped - they do lose water and drip/leak and evaporate, from being rolled or moved house to house, simply add hot water.
We won't come back to change a spa for a leak or heat times sorry.
error e90 code in my inflatable, dirty filter, you just clean the inflatable filters daily as they are small and clog, solid tubs don't have that to do.
don't stand on the plug as that cracks it and it will leak, thanks. We can't come back for leaks.
not hot enough - turn temp up and add hot water, we can't make it hotter quicker.
Why won't the inflatable go past say 35 degrees? This is because the inflatable spas have no insulation like an expensive solid spa, even they fluctuate.
"we are in the tub and it's gone down in temp ", ok the inflatable tubs do not sit fixed on 40 degrees , bubbles on blows Cold air in, this cools faster then it's heats so use in bursts of 10 minutes. Simply add a hose or many buckets of hot water to get the temperature to the desired level. We cannot make it increase by text. Solid tubs don't have this issue much due to them having insulation.hot from hot kitchen tap via hose in the bottom/floor area of.
We do not refund in any way for heat times or any other reason.
The spa until it says 37-40 degrees
Solid tubs when on speed two has the heater turned off as it's only on a household plug, keep it on speed one to increase temp then speed two in bursts of 30 minutes. Again, add hot if you cannot wait .household plugs can only have 3kw through them and the heater is 2kw so it cannot have all guns blazing jets and heater, hence the heater goes off when all bets are on full on solid spas.
solid spas when on speed two will stop heating, this is due to the power needed for all the jets, while on speed two the temp will decrease, so use speed one to gain temp or add hot water.
We asked you to get a tap connector before deliver so it could be warm filled, if you haven't then I'd suggest getting one to add hot to speed it up
bucket or hose in hot water until the desired temperature is reached if heater isn't fast enough for you.
electrics tripped - try a different socket
But never use a socket with something on same socket or even next to it.
do we empty it? We empty the spa at collection for you so leave it full and switched off please after your last night.
waters gone dirty - keep adding tablets to the float as the others dissolve and shower first.
Done everything in messages but the flame sign is red on inflatables , what does this mean as it was green ? That means when it's red it's heating, green and it's reached the temp you set on the control panel and it's now not heating
Kindest regards
Ben and team
Party time hot tub and spa hire.
